Golf Course Turf Team Member
Olomana Golf Course is looking for qualified applicants for the Turf Team Maintenance crew.
Duties Include:
- Completing a large variety of tasks pertaining to the course throughout the day under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendents.
- Tasks specific to golf course maintenance such as: raking bunkers, mowing greens, raking debris, use of string trimmers and use of various powered equiment
- Inspects & Identifies equipment or machine in need of repair
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of maintenance tools such as weed-wackers, blowers, trimmers, saws etc.
- Must have valid drivers license
- Experience with golf coursework is a plus
- Physical, mental, emotional stamina to perform duties
- Speaking abilities in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal, telephone, or 2 way radio communication
- Physical strength to lift 50lbs unassisted or 80lb assisted
General Working Conditions:
- Outdoor working environment subject to pre-dawn hours
- Adverse conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and in awkward confined spaces
- Complete manual labor for long periods of time, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling of equipment and machinery
- Work in and around potentially hazardous materials such as pesticides, herbicides, and motor oil
Golf Course Irrigation Technician
Olomana Golf Course is looking for qualified applicants for Irrigation Technician. The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of the irrigation system. This position is under the direction of the superintendent.
Duties Include:
- Monitoring the irrigation system on a daily basis
- Detects and makes necessary repairs to irrigation system
- Working in an independent matter under the guidelines provided by the superintendent
- Work is spot checked for compliance with instructions
Qualifications:
- Solid and Knowledgeable in all areas of irrigation equipment
- Ability to read and comprehend irrigation blue prints, manuals, and/or written instructions
- Ability to operate all equipment, tools, vehicles, and train other employees in the proper operation and care there of.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all co-workers to foster and promote a cooperative working environment
General Working Conditions:
- Most work outdoors under various weather conditions. Some work may be performed inside due to circumstances related to mechanical breakdowns
- Work involves heavy lifting up to 100lbs
- Exposure to hazardous materials, fumes, machinery with moving parts, loud noise, dirt and irrigation water.
- Significant physical movement to stand, stoop, walk as part of the work routine.
Outside Guest Services / Cart Attendant
Olomana Golf Course is looking for qualified applicants for Outside Guest Services / Cart Attendant. OGS/Cart Attendant is responsible for providing customer service to all guests under the direction of the Director of Golf.
Duties Include:
- Greets and welcomes all arriving guests and provides any and all assistance needed throughout the day while maintaining the cleanliness of the driving range facility, golf carts, parking lot, and the area around the clubhouse
- Shuttle carts from cart barn to staging area
- Ensure that carts are clean and supplied with scorecards, pencils, sand, and towels
- Cleans out golf carts of rubbish, used scorecards, dulled pencils, and replenishes supplies Inspects and reports any damage found on carts
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to operate a golf car
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisor
- Must be able to respond to customer requests knowledgeably and with courtesy
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
General Working Conditions:
- He/she may be exposed to rain, wind, and hot/cold weather
- Ability to stand for an entire 8-10 hour shift
- Significant physical movement to stand, stoop, walk as part of the work routine.
